Psalm 26:8
I love the house where You live, O Lord, the place where Your glory dwells.

I'm sure that none of you will be able to relate to this, but sometimes, if I'm honest, I have to say that church is boring. Now, I don't expect it to be like the circus or even like an action movie. but sometimes it just seems that we shuffle in, serve our time and then shuffle out. And then I read verses like the one above and think, "You're crazy, David!"

But then again, maybe he isn't.

The more I think about it, I have been bored in church, but I've never been bored in the presence of God. There have been times in my life when I knew- I mean down to the socks on my feet KNEW- that God was near me, and those times are anything but boring. Those times are exhilirating, inspiring and even a little overwhelming. And if that doesn't describe our churches, then maybe our churches aren't the place where His glory dwells. But I want them to be. And I believe that they can be.

The sure fire way to make sure God comes to church is {tongue planted firmly in cheek} to bring Him with you! So often we don't give Him the time of day during the week and expect the services on Sundays and Wednesdays to wow us. But God isn't a show. He is the Sovereign creator of all that we know and are and He desires that we be the house where He lives and that our lives would be the place where His glory dwells! Imagine how this week's services would change if everyone in the pews brought the glory of God with them to church.

Give it a shot!

Take God to church with you this week and see what happens!
