I just "Googled" myself. Wow, that doesn't sound good. Anyway, I did. I typed in my name and within .25 seconds I found out that there are just under 700,000 pages on the web about Paul Jenkins. I found out that I am currently running for the Senate in Texas, practicing Astronomy in England and have enjoyed tremendous success as a painter. I have authored a number of books and apparently, in my spare time, I am employed at the University of Leicester in the Department of Chemistry. Man, no wonder I'm so tired.

It's amazing that there can be so much out there about one name. I guess if I had a less common name, I'd feel less crowded, but the fact remains that it is easy to get lost in the sea of humanity and that's when I'm glad that my ways - um, the Paul Jenkins who lives in my house - are known by God. He knows the hairs on my head and He knows the desires of my heart. When I pray, He doesn't have to "Google" me to remember the facts of my life or to see where I'm now employed. He is intimately - sometimes too intimately, to be honest - involved in my life and He has it under control.

I've used Google for a lot of things, but this may have been the best yet. It is a perfect illustration of how large this world is and how impossible it is for this world to give me - and you - what we so desperately want: to be known and loved for who we are.
