Proverbs 23:11
for their Defender is strong; he will take up their case against you.

Unless you never go online for anything other than shopping {shudder}, you've probably heard about how Mike Gundy, the football coach at Oklahoma State University, ripped into a local reporter during a postgame news conference (if you haven't, you can see the rant at YouTube). Evotion imageHeck, even if you have seen it, it wouldn't be a wasted 3 minutes and 20 seconds to see it again. I'll wait.

This guy is now getting ripped pretty hard by the media. They're saying things like his message got lost in the way he communicated (which is a great point for many pastors to ponder, yes?). But I don't see it that way at all. I see a man ("I'm a man! I'm 40!") who is passionate about his players and is willing to come to their defense. I see a passion that reminds me of how God defends His own, too.

I would have hated to have been Jenni Carlson during that press conference. I like to think that God can make our enemies feel as small as Coach Gundy made Ms. Carlson feel, too.

I don't know what is being written or said about you, what reporter from the dark side is haunting you with his words, or what situation is filling your ears with a bunch of garbage, but I do know that your Defender is strong and He loves to rally to the cause of His children.

Go get 'em, Coach.
